Sport at LU

Sport has always been a big part of campus life at Lincoln.

Whether it’s just for recreation playing volleyball in the gym or on Forbes Lawn, with other students in a LUSA club, as a sports scholar or studying it to work towards your career.

We compete against universities and institutions and have played in local competitions for decades: in hockey, rowing, rugby, cricket and a myriad of other codes.

It has been part of how we grow students more than just academically, expanding opportunities and building a sense of pride and accomplishment among peers. It also helps you make friends and simply have fun.

There are lots of opportunities to play sport at Lincoln, and every student has the opportunity to join the fantastic Whare Hākinakina Lincoln Gym, with its state of the art equipment and facilities, which includes a sports lab that can help you monitor your progress towards your fitness goals.
